John Edward Bishop (1950-2014) was a well-known and beloved teacher and artist in the Lynbrook/East Rockaway (Long Island, New York) area.

John had a penchant for the simple things that were part of his daily routine. He was able to find beauty and poetry in things that might seem commonplace and ordinary to others, and would go unnoticed by most.

More than anything, John loved light and the different effects, depending on the season, weather or even the time of day, that light produces on buildings and in nature; particularly on trees, an unending source of inspiration for John.
